The training session was held on Tuesday, September 27 at the University of Mondragon’s Bilbao BBF Campus as part of the ‘Basque Business and Internationalisation’ module of the programme.
The goal of the BEINT – International Business Program, which is aimed at young Basque talent with a university degree, is to train them in the field of internationalisation through academic knowledge and practical experience in internationalised entities and companies.
The academic phase, which has the collaboration of the three Basque universities, UPV/EHU, the University of Mondragon and the University of Deusto, was presented by Jon Fernández, a project engineer from the Basque Energy Cluster Association (ACE).
During the session, he laid out the main functions that ACE plays within the Basque energy ecosystem through inter-company cooperation and public and private collaboration, with one of its main activities being to support the internationalisation of Basque companies in the sector.
After describing the context of energy transition in which the energy sector is immersed, ACE then went on to provide an overview of the Basque energy sector, its activities and future prospects, highlighting its positioning and strength in the main areas on which this energy transition will be based.
At the end, the students were able to take part in a question and answer session, in which the main focus was on the major challenges and opportunities that the energy transition will bring in the coming decades.
